Dear Trojan Families,
Students are required to purchase a parking permit each semester
to park a vehicle in the GHS parking lot. There is an application process to be awarded a parking permit.
It has come to our attention that students are parking on campus without a permit,
intentionally ignoring this process. Please note, that starting on Wednesday, 4/18/18,
students parking without a permit may be charged a
$10 daily parking fee and receive disciplinary consequences
for ignoring school policies related to parking.
Unpaid daily parking fees will become student obligations.
Failure to adhere to the policy may also result in towing.
~Dr. Christine Handy, Principal Gaithersburg HS

GHS Drama is in desperate need of adult drivers for the MCPS Theatre Festival on Friday, January 19th! We need to transport 15 students to the festival at Clarksburg High School, and, right now, we have no volunteer drivers! Drivers would need to complete the MCPS Child Abuse & Neglect Online Training and send in their confirmation codes. Please click here to access the training.
We need drivers to meet us at the school at 9:15 AM on the 19th. We’ll leave GHS at 9:30 in order to arrive at Clarksburg before 10:00 AM, when the festival begins. The drivers can then leave and go about their days. We need drivers to return to Clarksburg High School by 6:00 PM to pick us up and bring us back to GHS.
If you are able to volunteer, please email Julie Bourque ASAP by clicking here. and let her know how many students you can fit in your car.
The GHS PTSA has scheduled our summer “job/opportunity/internship fair” on Friday, January 26, 2018 starting at 6:45 pm. (Snow date is Tuesday, Feb. 13th same time.)
The Gaithersburg Varsity Boys Basketball team plays Clarksburg High School starting at 7:15 pm that evening.
We would love to have you/your company sign up for a table for the job fair. I would love to see tables running the length of our wonderful Trophy Hall (just outside the main gym) with lots of opportunities for our students to be employed or intern this summer! Not only will we be advertising in the weeks prior to the job fair, we will also make announcements during the game as to what vendors are in attendance that night.
We could have additional space set up for students to fill out applications, if you wish, and even separate areas to have mini interviews, if that is your desire, as well.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like a table at no charge. If you know of someone else who might be able to take advantage of this opportunity, please, share this information.
Please contact me with any questions. My cell phone is 301-785-9613. We’ve had such great comments about the student summer job/opportunity/internship fair the past couple of years! We were also happy to report that many GHS students have received jobs by attending the fair.
